An Artist Talk and Drawing Workshop with Shabu Mwangi, the 2023 Art X Prizewinner
Join us at G.A.S. Lagos this Thursday for My Journey in Art, an artist talk and interactive drawing workshop led by Shabu Mwangi, last year's Art X Diaspora Prizewinner. As he concludes his 8-week residency, Shabu will offer an engaging reflection on his artistic evolution, detailing the different stages of his work and how he harnesses art for social change through the Wajukuu Art Collective. This collective is an artist-led organization dedicated to empowering young people in the Mukuru slum of Nairobi through creative initiatives. The session will be followed by a drawing workshop where participants will reflect on their personal journeys, exploring what home means, who they are now, and their vision for the future.
