Yinka Shonibare CBE (RA)is a British-Nigerian artist based in London, whose multi-disciplinary practice explores colonialism and post-colonialism within the context of globalisation. Through examining race, class and the construction of cultural identity, Shonibare’s works comment on the tangled interrelationship between Africa and Europe, and their respective economic and political histories.

Yinka is one of the world’s foremost artists. A Turner Prize nominee, his work has been included in Documenta IX, the Fourth Plinth, Trafalgar Square (2010-12) and the Venice Biennale. He has exhibited internationally at prominent museums and held in notable collections including Tate, MoMA, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and LACMA.

Bimpe is a wealth advisor and Managing Principal of W8 Advisory LLP (based in the UK).  She is a qualified lawyer and also a keen enthusiast and collector of African art. 

She contributes regularly to conversations and formal discourse on promoting and developing the creative industries on the continent. She advises corporates, families and established artists in different models of philanthropy and methods of measuring the impact and the implementation of the support received from donors.

She is a director / trustee of G.A.S Foundation & Yinka Shonibare Foundation; a member of the African Art Acquisitions Committee of les Amis du Centre Pompidou (in Paris, France) and a patron of the Whitechapel Gallery in London, UK.

Tokini Peterside-Schwebig is an entrepreneur and strategic advisor dedicated to defining a new narrative about Africa through its culture and creative industry. She is the Founder & CEO of ART X Collective.

After working extensively with brands in culture, fashion and luxury, including the LVMH Group, she created in 2016, ART X Lagos - West Africa’s first international art fair. The fair has since become a cornerstone of the African art sector, and has been described by the Financial Times as “a reflection of Nigeria’s potential on the global scene”. She also launched simultaneously the platforms ART X Live! and the ART X Prize to support emerging talent.

An avid art collector, patron and board member, Tokini was named one of the 40 Under 40 in Africa by Apollo in 2020 and one of the 100 Most Creative People in Business by Fast Company in 2019. She lives and works in Lagos.

Adeniyi Adenubi is the Executive Director, Investment Management and Investor Relations for VFD Group Plc, a group of financial services companies -including a retail bank, currency exchange, asset management advisory firm and more. 

Niyi is a financier and an investor with more than 15 years of experience in Institutional and Corporate banking, Investment management and consulting sectors. He is also the Co-founder of Premium Green Ltd, an investment company that is the majority shareholder of VFD Group, a company he also Co-founded. His private investment vehicle is Paragon Partners which is being remodelled into a Family Office. 

Niyi is passionate about Corporate Governance and brings this to bear on all the boards on which he serves. Niyi is also a member of The Institute of Directors. 

Temitayo Ogunbiyi is a Nigerian-American artist and curator living and working in Lagos. Temitayo is a graduate of Princeton and Columbia Universities, where she studied Visual Art and Curatorial Studies and Critical Art Theory, respectively. She has recently had works included in exhibitions at the Van Abbemuseum (2022-24), Para Site (2022), the 12th Berlin Biennale (2022), Tiwani Contemporary (Lagos (2022); London (2016); the Madre Museum (2020), TOR Art Space (2019), Biennale Jogja (2015); Pulitzer Art Foundation, St. Louis (2012); and the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos (2012). She has curated exhibitions for the National Museum of African Art (Smithsonian Institute); the United Nations World Trade Organization, and across several venues in Lagos. She previously served as Head of Curatorial at ART X Collective Lagos.

Ugoma Ebilah, a corporate finance professional turned creative entrepreneur, is known for her community-building efforts and dynamic taste-making. She is the director of BLOOM Art, a private art gallery, and corporate art advisory that promotes and supports multifarious artists and creatives. She founded the award-winning design brand, Zebra Living, and co-founded and ran The Life House, a pioneering multi-arts institution. Ugoma is also the festival director of Lights Camera Africa Film Festival - promoting independent and unconventional films to a discerning audience, producer of the Woman Rising Music Concert - celebrating female excellence and creativity, and the founder/editor of Arts Weekender.

Executive Director

Moni Aisida is the Executive Director at Guest Artists Foundation. In addition to a background in Fintech and Health, Moni has over 8 years of experience in the arts industry, including at SMO Contemporary, Art X Lagos, and most recently, Affinity Gallery.

She is best known for her work with bringing to the fore, emerging art practices, and institutions.  

Residency and Project Manager

Adekunle Adeboye is the Residency and Project Coordinator at G.A.S. Foundation with over 7 years prior experience working across a range of creative and cultural consultancy. Prior to his appointment at G.A.S. Foundation, Adekunle was the Head of Operations and Projects at A Whitespace Creative Agency (AWCA) and Untitled Lagos.

A graduate of Yaba College of Technology and Babcock University, Adekunle has vast experience delivering creative projects and working with a broad spectrum of artists. Adekunle also has interests in finance and accounts.

Projects and Library Coordinator

Tomiwa Adegbola is the Projects & Library Co-ordinator at G.A.S. Foundation. She previously worked as a Corporate Tax associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers UK and has experience facilitating African development-focused projects within various non-profit organisations across the UK and Nigeria.A BSc holder from Warwick Business School and residency alumnus of the African Artists’ Foundation, Tomiwa is passionate about art writing and infrastructure building within the African art sector.

Communications and Events Co-ordinator 

Catherine Bardi is the Communications and Events Coordinator at G.A.S. Foundation. She has previously worked as the Communications Manager at Wunika Mukan Gallery in Lagos and as a contributing writer at Art Network Africa (formerly Art News Africa). Catherine holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Benin, which provided the foundation for her career in communications, further developed during an internship at Xpress Payment Solutions Limited.

This experience has been key in shaping her career in the art sector, where she has developed skills in writing, and relationship management with artists and art professionals.
