On February 11th, we hosted our first Patrons Dinner of 2025 at G.A.S. Lagos, bringing together Patrons, donors, trustees, and key supporters for an intimate evening of meaningful conversations and fine dining.
G.A.S. Trustee Bimpe Nkontchou opened the evening by chronicling the Foundation’s journey from the launch of Guest Projects London in 2008 to the establishment of G.A.S. Foundation in Nigeria in 2022. She reflected on how the initiative has grown into a vital residency and research hub, fostering meaningful exchange between local and international artists, curators, and researchers. Joining virtually, Yinka Shonibare CBE RA, the founder of the Foundation delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude for the continued support that has fueled the Foundation’s remarkable growth over the past few years. The momentum of the evening continued with insightful remarks from Y.S.F. CEO Belinda Holden and G.A.S. Director Moni Aisida, who provided an in-depth look at the Foundation’s progress, milestones, and future ambitions. They emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and patronage in driving G.A.S. Foundation’s mission forward.
