In tandem with the launch of our international artist residency programme in Nigeria, Guest Artist Space (G.A.S.) and Yinka Shonibare Foundation are delighted to announce a call out for the inaugural G.A.S. Fellowship Awards. Three one-month residencies will be offered to Nigerian and West African creative practitioners between May 2022 and March 2023, with two taking place in Lagos and one at our sister location on the G.A.S. Ecology Green Farm in Ijebu.
Fellowships are fully funded offering room and board, a stipend of 500 USD (207,880 NGN) and access to a wide range of resources and support. A further 400 USD (166,124 NGN) is available to cover a food and travel allowance. Outcomes from the residency will vary depending on the creative practice but may include an open studio, social media and coverage on the website, exhibitions, performances and public events which will be coordinated and supported by the G.A.S. team in Lagos.
