South London Gallery Partnership

In 2023 G.A.S. Foundation partnered with South London Gallery (SLG) as a means of facilitating opportunities for research, and ultimately, the commissioning of new artwork for their highly anticipated exhibition, Lagos, Peckham, Repeat: Pilgrimage to the Lakes. Known as ‘Little Lagos’, Peckham (where SLG is situated) is home to one of the largest Nigerian diaspora communities in the UK.

Former Guest Projects Digital alumni, resercher and UK-based Nigerian mutidisciplinary artist Chiizii was selected for the opportunity. She will exhibit new work that was in part developed during her Lagos residency alongside G.A.S. Founder, Yinka Shonibare CBE. RA, G.A.S. Director Temitayo Ogunbiyi, G.A.S. alumni, Seyi Adelekun and friends of the Foundation such as Ndidi Dike and Victor Ehikhamenor.

The exhibition is free and runs from 5th July until 29th October 2023 at both the main gallery and fires station galleries at SLG.
